DOCS · FIELDINGPLANNED FEATURE

A survey address of your own.

A custom domain would let you share a study using a subdomain of your company’s website. Managed activation from the web app is planned and is not available today.

Use the app’s address for now. Copy the current interview link or embed from Deploy. This page does not activate a domain, supply a DNS target, or confirm that a chosen address can be connected.

Choose a recognizable address

Consider a dedicated subdomain such as surveys.yourcompany.example. This is an illustration, not a registered voxq address or a target to copy. Choose a name that makes sense to respondents and is not already used by another service.

Ask the person managing your company’s domain whether the name is available and who can approve a future DNS change. You can prepare this decision without changing any records now.

The planned connection process

These are intended steps for a future app feature, not instructions for controls that exist today:

  1. Choose a subdomain. Agree the survey address with your domain administrator.
  2. Request connection in the app, once available. The app would issue the exact DNS record name, type, and value for your workspace.
  3. Have your administrator add that record. Use only the app-issued value. This guide provides no DNS destination.
  4. Wait for verification. Use the address only after the app confirms the connection is active.

There is no managed activation path to complete these steps today. Do not point DNS at a guessed voxq hostname or replace an existing record based on this example.

Before sharing a future custom address

Once the feature is available and the app confirms activation, check that the address opens the intended survey, media loads when requested, and a deliberately submitted test answer appears in Results. Test on a phone too. A published test answer is saved data; preview lets you test without collecting it.

Copy fresh links and embeds from Deploy after activation. Keep using the current app-issued address until those checks succeed.

What remains planned

Workspace domain connection, ownership verification, certificate setup, and activation status need a complete managed workflow. No activation date, DNS destination, or successful company-domain connection is promised here.

A custom hostname would change the address respondents use. It would not itself mean the workload runs in your cloud, establish data residency, or provide air-gapped operation. Compare proposed hosted and BYOC deployments if that is your requirement.

Technical deployment work belongs in the developer setup guide. You can use the hosted web app without doing that work yourself.
